Week 6 (18/05/20)

We were asked to show the 7 articles for our critical review as well as write 2 full critical reviews.

Feedback:

After showing my 2 critical reviews, Ms. Jinchi read through them and spotted some errors and things that needed to be rephrased or refined. There were quite a lot of areas where I had to change grammatical errors or rephrase a sentence, elaborate more on a subject or summarise it. I also have to cite the articles properly using APA style. Overall, I don't think there were any big mistakes in the content of the work.

As a general feedback, both lecturers told us to read the articles first before attempting to write the critical reviews. If we start writing the review while reading the article for the first time, it will be very difficult and inefficient to do so.

Ms. Jinchi also told us not to include too many details or quote what has been written in the articles. She said that it would be good if we could write another sentence or paragraph at the end of each critical review which states on how this particulate article has benefited our study, or how it fits into our theme/research topic.

Week 7 (25/05/20)

I used the feedback to make the necessary changes to my work as well as to finish up the remaining 5 critical reviews.

• Relevance of research: The research is relevant and articles and up-to-date (within the last 5 years). Make sure you write all bibliography in APA style.

• Clarity of examination: You are articulate and thorough in your critiques, making sure all important parts of the research articles are covered and evaluated accordingly. The detailed descriptions and evaluation is indicative of clear comprehension of the texts with an objective and critical mind. It is commendable that you had added an extra part at the end of the reviews - indicating the relevance of those articles to your research - which will be useful when you write the dissertation next semester.
