REFLECTION

Experience

I think there was a lot of stress involved in this module. Sometimes I would feel like the workload was too much and I was spending way more time for this module compared to my other ones. Nonetheless, things became easier as I continued to practice more on the softwares and do my assignments. I think I benefited a lot from learning typography because I am able to get out of my comfort zone and use digital software for the first time, make GIFS and new designs, and of course push myself to become a better designer.

Observation

Even though I struggled a lot with my assignments for this module, I think it really taught me a lot about typography and the beauty of words. I also became more aware of how much work and effort it takes for a designer to create something so "simple". Typography is far from what meets the eye as there is so much thought and effort behind every single letter or design. From the first week of class, I have grown a bigger appreciation for typography, and the typographers out there.

Findings

I think typography really opened a new pathway for me as a designer who never used to focus on words or type before. I now appreciate typography even more and understand that it is a powerful component of design that is different from a normal illustration. I will most definitely try to incorporate it more into other assignments and my own projects too.
